We are so thankful to have received funding in 2023 for our Snip-It-Ticket Program, a low cost spay/neuter program made possible thanks to grant funding from the WV Department of Agriculture through the West Virginia Spay Neuter Program and matching funds generously provided by the Tucker County Commission. This funding is limited, for a $19,900 total project cost to impact approximately 200 cats and dogs belonging to or cared for by citizens of Tucker County to be spent by November 2023 (or when funding is gone-- DO NOT WAIT TO APPLY!)
We are running a combined Low Income Restricted program, meaning that any resident of Tucker County is encouraged to apply for a voucher if they need it for up to 5 animals in their care. Priority does go to those whose income meets the following requirements:
Eligible owners and caretakers must currently be receiving assistance from at least one of the following state and federal public assistance programs: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Medicaid; Supplemental Security Income (SSI); The West Virginia Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP); Social Security Disability; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF); Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC); Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP); or Low Income Veterans Assistance.
Here is how the voucher program works:
The vouchers cover up to $125 on spay and rabies vaccination or $85 on neuter and rabies vaccination for cats and dogs belonging to or cared for by residents of Tucker County.
